The points of the pentacle represent the elements of earth, air, fire and water with the top point representing spirit, the highest influence.The pentacle is surrounded by a tree encompassing the three realms, the branches of the upper realm, the trunk representing the middle realm, and the roots representing the lower realm.
On the altar the pentacle is a powerful force and represents magic and the place where we connect our everyday world with the divine.
